The 'Trojan room coffee machine' was the inspiration for the world's first web cam.The coffee pot was located in the so called Trojan room within the old computer laboratory of the University of the Cambridge. The web cam was created by student Quentin Stafford to provide a live 128 x128 pixel greyscale picture of the state of the coffee pot on any user computer.
